ABOUT ŠUMAVA NP ADMINISTRATION
Protected areas of Šumava represent typical ecosystems of Central European mountainous landscapes, especially forests, glacial lakes, peat bogs, and alpine meadows, including all their developmental stages.
Territory Administered by the Šumava NP:
- Protected Landscape Area – It was established in 1963, at the time when a border zone and two military training areas were already present there. Area is especially aimed at protecting the landscape, its diversity, and natural qualities (i.e. also wilderness areas, if present).
- National Park – Šumava NP ensures conservation of natural processes in accordance with the global mission of national parks, while providing sufficient space for active protection of species and genetic diversity.

LIFE ADAPT BRDY INVOLVEMENT
Provide consultations regarding the study of water retention in the landscape and the revitalization of selected springs. Dissemination of project results and participation in seminars.
