In May, VLS ČR, state enterprise, took delivery of a new LVS 520 forwarder at the service administration in Mirošov. The costs of its acquisition will be included in the LIFE project. It will be used for nature-close extraction of wood material, mainly from thinning spruce stands, which will be prepared for a shelterwood system by logging.
Basic technical data: The forwarder is intended for forwarding 2–5 m logs, particularly from thinning and salvage cutting. Its deadweight is 5 tons. The volume of the loading platform is 5 m3. Efficient loading of various loads onto the LVS 520 loading platform is possible with a Cranab FC 45 hydraulic arm; it has a telescopic 6.1 m extension with a deadweight of 1130 kg at 3 metres and has speed control of individual functions.
